Applications open in January 2014 for the role of Clinical Lead for NAP6

NAP6 will study Perioperative Anaphylaxis and applications are now open for the role of Clinical Lead. For details, please see the NAP pages of the HSRC website.

Research and Audit for Quality Improvement Day

Vacancy: Trainee Representative on the NIAA Board

Applications are invited for the role of co-opted Trainee Representative on the Board of the National Institute of Academic Anaesthesia (NIAA).

Trainees who hold a National Training Number in Anaesthesia, and are either Academic Clinical Fellows, Academic Clinical Lecturers or are undertaking/ have completed an MD(Res) or PhD are eligible to apply.

The appointment will be made for two years or until achievement of CCT in the first instance, with the potential for re-appointment for a second two year term.

New 'how-to' guide to setting up a trainee-led research network

With help from the South West Anaesthesia Research Matrix (SWARM) and the West Midlands Trainee Research in Anaesthesia and Intensive Care Network (WM TRAIN), the NIAA has compiled some advice and guidance on how to set up a trainee led research network.

The John Snow Anaesthesia iBSc Award 2014

The National Institute of Academic Anaesthesia (NIAA) is pleased to announce details for the 2014 John Snow Anaesthesia Intercalated BSc Awards, funded by the Association of Anaesthetists of Great Britain & Ireland (AAGBI)/Anaesthesia, the British Journal of Anaesthesia (BJA)/Royal College of Anaesthetists (RCoA) and the Obstetric Anaesthetists' Association (OAA).

John Snow Oration

This eponymous lectureship is the highest lectureship awarded by the RCoA on behalf of the NIAA Health Services Research Centre. The inaugural lecture will be delivered at the RCoA Anniversary Meeting (12-13th March 2014) to Sir Bruce Keogh.
